AMMA Newsletter - Feb 2026
Dear Members and Allies,
Dear AMMA members and allies,
The legislative year in Washington is off to a quick start. The Trump Administration has taken another significant step toward reshoring America’s medical supply chain.
Last week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced they are seeking public input on new Medicare incentives to reward hospitals for purchasing American-made PPE and essential medicines. The proposal includes a potential “Secure American Medical Supplies” designation, which could help hospitals access prioritized supply chains, and targeted payment adjustments to help offset the higher costs of sourcing domestically manufactured products.
AMMA applauds Administrator Oz and the Administration for their leadership in strengthening America’s healthcare resilience. This initiative is a key step toward empowering U.S. manufacturers and ensuring a secure supply chain for hospitals and patients alike.
AMMA will work closely with CMS to provide input. We will amplify our members' voices as CMS prepares its final policy, ensuring your insights help shape a domestic manufacturing environment that works for everyone.
Congress is also active this Spring, focusing on trade, manufacturing, and supply chain security. Committees are gearing up to focus on trade policy and reshoring American jobs. To influence these efforts, your voice is essential to our success in shaping policies across Congress.
AMMA thanks each of you for your active participation in telling our stories to Congress, the Administration, and the media.
Sincerely,
Eric
